Ali Fazal is wowing fans with his role in Kandahar, his Hollywood venture, which stars Gerard Butler in the lead role. This action movie is streaming on Prime Video. He has also worked in several international projects such as British biographical drama Victoria & Abdul opposite Judi Dench, and Gal Gadot starrer Death on the Nile. With a more than decade-long presence in the Bollywood industry, the actor has also left footprints in global projects giving him a taste of diverse culture, rewards, experience, and challenges.

The actor expressed that international projects have taught him to juggle work on both sides and that it will never be enough as there are many cinematic developments happening worldwide. There is a lot of inclusivity these days, and you no not sit for auditions anymore to come to you. But you go out, explore, and make it happen. Down the line, working in Hollywood will also be normalized and several celebrities from India will represent the nation here. Thus, international movies will not just be a narrative but a pride of our own.

Ali also spoke widely on the myths of working in Hollywood projects, saying that people of all ethnicity compete for that one role. Yet, their own nation has beautiful documentaries and cinemas to boast about and get nominated at prestigious award events. It is only a matter of time and realization but every country can champion each other. For instance, for India, Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes is a documentary that was nominated. He also gave the example of Parasite, which shot to fame.

Talking about how excited and hungry he is for more work; he narrated his experience in Kandahar. They played with lots of guns and action and he had never before played such a role, bringing something unique to his fans. Though it was blind casting, there are times when he would have to sit down with the makers to discuss the scenes, and characters, and adjust according to the demands of the situation. Ali Fazal is having a time that many of us would die to have, and like they say, with powers come responsibilities, and the actor is slaying at that.
