Summary: The seventeenth season of Bigg Boss is on the verge of its launch in a matter of days. However, unlike past years, the Salman Khan-hosted show seems to be lacking the usual excitement.

With less than a week before Bigg Boss 17, the usual excitement is missing this time. There's minimal chatter about the theme, contestants, or Salman Khan's fee, and even fans seem relatively quiet. Possible reasons? Viewers fatigue from the show's repetitive content, its continuous airing, or growing doubts about its authenticity.

Bigg Boss 16 ended in February, followed by Bigg Boss OTT 2 just two months later. A shorter season after the main show seems to work better, as fans feel FOMO for a while once the show ends. The same issue is apparent this time.

The OTT version featuring YouTube stars gained popularity, particularly with housemates like Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan, and Manisha Rani, who remain in the spotlight. This has eclipsed interest in new contestants or another season.

The potential contestants lack excitement. Many are already candid on social media, and the show's recent focus on TV stars has diminished its appeal. Viewers miss the diverse array of past contestants, such as cricketers, singers, or politicians, who brought unique perspectives to the show.

TV shows are up against OTT and web series, and with the World Cup and full cinemas, people have plenty of entertainment options. Fresh content is in demand, and a new reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, featuring industry heavyweights, is on the horizon.

Viewers feel fatigued as contestants replicate past success, leading to predictability. The show's recurring themes of romance and conflict, along with producer support for some, have left little room for surprises. The question arises: Is there a reason to commit to three months of Bigg Boss?
