Summary: Aditi Rao Hydari and Sharmin Segal got into an argument during an interview over Sharmin’s statement over the actors' insecurity.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series, Heera Mandi: The Diamond Bazaar, premiered on Netflix in May 2024. The series caused controversy in the audience and received mixed feedback.

Particularly, the filmmaker's niece, Sharmin Segal, who played the character of 'Alamzeb', failed to impress the audience with her acting abilities. She was brutally mocked for her repetitive and boring expressions in the OTT series.

Sharmin Segal received nearly all of the criticism for her apparent bad performance, which many regarded as soulless and bland. She has muted comments on her social media and did not participate in post-release interviews.

A video from a group interview in which Sharmin and her Heeramandi co-star Aditi Rao Hydari argue about acting has gone viral, with many netizens noticing that Aditi appeared genuinely irritated by Sharmin's remarks.

In the now-viral video, Sharmin is heard saying, "Actor ki jaat insecure hoti hai," meaning all the actors are inherently insecure, which didn’t go well with Aditi Rao Hydari. Aditi cuts off Sharmin, saying, “No, but actors are human beings.”

However, Sharmin went on, ignoring Aditi's words: "If you're not insecure, I mean, let's leave Sonakshi Sinha out of this since Sona is the most secure person I know. But there is some charm to insecurity. While Sharmin was speaking, Sonakshi burst out laughing, but Aditi appeared irritated and exhausted. "No, insecurity is awful. No, I don't like it," Aditi stated.

Netizens have reacted to Sharmin's views on acting as well as Aditi and Sonakshi's expressions to her statement, with the majority of them aimed at Sharmin. One user wrote, “Aditi's eyeroll and 'chalo chhod deti hoon' expression," while the other wrote, “I just know they all have a group chat without Sharmin.” and many more such comments.
