Summary: Pakistani Actor Adnan Siddiqui says Hrithik Roshan’s “Fighter” is a flop movie. Says “Do not insult audience’s intelligence”

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer “Fighter” released on January 25, 2024, got positive reviews from the audience. The aerial fight sequence performed in the movie was widely acclaimed by the fans as well as the critics. Though the movie was showered with love and positive responses there’s a section of audience that feels “Fighter” is a flop movie.

“Fighter” was branded as ‘Anti-Pakistan’ by the many Pakistani celebs. Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui shared his thoughts about the movie. He shared his views on X, formerly Twitter saying, “A lesson to heed for the fighter team after your flop show. Do not insult your audience’s intelligence. They can discern agendas. Let art be free from politics.”

He says that it was ‘disheartening’ to see Pakistanis are shown as villains in Bollywood movies. Adnan Siddiqui has worked in a Bolloywood movie alongside Sridevi in the movie “MOM”. Criticizing the film he said, “Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now makes hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains. Despite our love for Bollywood films, it's disheartening. Art exceeds boundaries; let's use it to promote love and peace. Two nations who are victims of politics deserve better.”

Earlier Adnan criticized the movie “Mission Majnu” starring Siddharth Malhotra, where he depicted the role of an Indian spy. According to Adnan, the movie was misrepresented and there were many instances that were portrayed incorrectly. He said this about ‘Mission Majnu’: “How much misrepresentation is too much misrepresentation? Bollywood has the answer. I mean come on, yaar (friend) with all the money you have, hire some good researchers to do homework on us.”

He also feels that the story was poorly depicted, no proper research was done and. He also said, “allow me to help. Make sure to take notes — no, we don’t wear skull caps, Surma (Kohl), Tawiz (an amulet worn for good luck and protection); no, we don’t ask Janab (sir) about their Mijaz (mood); no, we don’t go around throwing Adaab (greeting in Urdu).”

Do you also think the portrayal of Pakistanis as villains is now out-dates, and we should let the bygones be bygones? Well I will only say some wounds never heal.
