In a recent revelation, Raj Kundra shared insights into his wife, the actor Shilpa Shetty's response to his acting debut in UT69. Although Shilpa initially had reservations about the concept, Raj disclosed that she eventually had a change of heart and became quite supportive. According to Raj, Shilpa had initial doubts about the film's realization due to its uncertain nature.

Raj playfully remarked, "She (Shilpa) was a short distance away when I broke the news that I'm venturing into film-making. I didn't get too close to her." He went on to say, "I mentioned that I had a script and awaited her response. As I turned away, a sandal came flying in my direction. I suppose she found the idea a bit uncertain at first, maybe thinking the film might not materialize," he added with a smile.

Raj also shared the process of how he persuaded Shilpa after a brief narration by the director, Shahnawaz Ali. "He provided her with a concise overview," Raj explained. "She pondered it and came to the realization that it wasn't a story against the system in any manner. Instead, it was a deeply human narrative."

Raj continued, "She was incredibly supportive. She asked me, 'Can you handle the acting part?' To which, I assured her that I could, given my firsthand experience with a bit of method acting while being in jail." He went on to reveal Shilpa's response to UT69, noting that she is proud of his endeavor.

The new UT69 movie trailer was released not long ago. In the trailer, Raj takes on the lead role and talks about his time in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail. Raj Kundra faced arrest in a case related to pornography in 2021, which stirred up a lot of controversy.

He was released on bail in September 2021 after being in jail for about two months. He had charges under various laws, including the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act, and the Information Technology Act.
